Master Instructor, Viresh Mistry (4th Dan Kukkiwon)
Master Instructor, Founder & Owner of ACE Academy, Viresh Mistry, is a Black Belt Master under Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain and a Kukkiwon certified 4th Dan Black Belt. He has been a dedicated practitioner of martial arts for over 30 years. Having started his journey with Grand Master Lindsay Lawrence, he quickly realised his passion for the art and sport made a permanent home with London (UK) Region Head Trainer, Master Mark Sargeant at Saint Katherines TKD (UK). He continues to be an active athlete, training with Provincial and National players alike.
He is a former member of the Chungdokwan Great Britain Taekwondo Team and Team Trainer. As a former high performance athlete himself he has competed at the National and International level for over 15 years before making the decision to pass his knowledge to the next generation. Viresh also holds a Black Belt in Kick-Boxing under the British Kickboxing Council (BKC).
Viresh believes there is no limit to the knowledge one can accumulate and is dedicated to keeping up to date with the latest teaching and coaching techniques through seminars and workshops. He has recently graduated from the National Coaching Certification Program of Canada (NCCP) and continues to educate himself on sport principles and applications that will develop the students at the academy.
Viresh is a certified Insanity LIVE instructor and a certified CIZE instructor.
Viresh strives to pass on his knowledge to the newer generation of martial artists in a positive and motivational way and inspire all students to be the best they can be.
Instructor, Robert Beer (2nd Dan Kukkiwon)
Robert joined ACE in 2011 after relocating from the United Kingdom in 2008. He started his training in 1990 with Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain under the guidance of Master Robert Kampta and later Grandmaster Lindsay Lawrence and Master Mark Sargeant, where he first met Viresh. Robert has competitive experience at the regional and national level in the UK and earned his Black Belt in 1995, under the tutelage of Grandmaster Mark Biddlecomb. Robert first instructed and coached regularly whilst at Southampton University and also gained experience in Kickboxing and Shotokan Karate. He particularly enjoys teaching the philosophical and technical aspects of Taekwondo whilst maintaining his own training. Robert is a qualified elementary teacher and is currently working within the TDSB (Toronto District School Board).
Madison has been training with ACE since a white belt. Over the last few years she has developed into an athlete that inspires all the younger generation of students to one day be like her – confident, respectful and knowledgable. As an athlete, Madison has attained some great achievements during her time at ACE including winning the 2013 Canada Open Championship for her weight & rank division. More recently Madison took 2nd place at the 2015 Ontario Team Trials for her weight division and earned her spot to represent Team Ontario at the Canadian National Team Trials.
Instructor, Wayne Mogg
Instructor Wayne has spent several years devoting his time and energy to learning the Japanese style of Shotokan Karate. He is also an active practitioner of Taekwondo at ACE which he studied for three years with his son who is an active competitor. In addition, Instructor Wayne was inspired to further study the art of Aikido after being inspired by movie star Steven Seagal – The seemingly simple but effective defence techniques used to channel opponents strength against them. Wayne continues to practice Aikido as he strives to develop his knowledge of the martial arts form. Wayne’s passion lies in imparting his knowledge to students interested in learning and developing their martial arts training.
Coach, Tom Sawyer – Personal Trainer & Fitness Coach
Tom has been educating and training individuals and companies to better health, Fitness and performance for the past 29 years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics and Kinesiology, is a Certified Exercise Therapist and Hydro Therapist, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Certified Fitness Appraiser, Certified Nutritional Counsellor, a Certified Zone Nutrition Educator, Bootcamp Instructor, Certified Crossfit instructor, Certified Insanity and P90X instructor, level 1 Boxing and Kick Boxing instructor. Tom is also an accomplished Triathlete and Duathlete and he has represented Canada at the World Championships in both events in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1999. Tom loves working with all levels of participants from beginner to elite athlete. His passion and goal is to help each client overcome personal challenges and achieve their personal best in health, fitness and performance while educating and promoting a healthy lifestyle long-term.
